Flemington BMW is proud to announce that we are sponsoring the annual Lightning Club Race/Driver School event that will be taking place from June 6-7, 2016 at the Lightning Raceway Track at New Jersey Motorsports Park. The proceeds of this event will be once again going towards the kids Westlake School who will be in attendance as the special guests.
Along with the Driver School and Club Race event there will be the usual banquet on Monday night with door prizes and an auction fundraiser to benefit the Westlake School. As the official sponsor of the event, we will be on hand to provide a pace car for the race, along with some of the prizes that will be given away in the raffle and the auction.
Based on registration, the Driver School will most likely consist of two student run groups, one for Advanced students, and a second for Beginner/Intermediate students. In order to ensure your place in the group of your choice be sure to register as soon as possible!

Please note the following:
Participants must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license. Per requirements of BMW CCA national office, all STUDENT participants must be members of BMW CCA. Please include your BMW CCA membership number in your Profile. If you are not yet a BMW CCA member, we have a promotion to make it easy to join.
NJ BMW CCA does not allow convertibles of any kind nor SAV/SUVs at our on-track events. Spec Miatas (and similar) are acceptable if they have a full roll-cage, permanently attached factory hard-top and current SCCA log book. They must also comply with all vehicle Technical Inspection requirements.
Note that all after-market tinting must be approved in advance by the Chief of Tech. Failure to obtain pre-approval may result in your car failing Tech Inspection and loss of your registration fee.
Any damage caused to the paddock or track, including safety barriers, is the responsibility of the participant. Note that the track may collect payment on-site.
Cancellations will be accepted until two weeks prior to the start date of an event. Any cancellation received on or prior to the respective cancellation date will be charged a $25.00 handling fee. Any cancellation request following the cancellation date is subject to forfeiture of the entire entry fee if the Registrar is unable to fill your slot. If your slot is filled, only the $25 handling fee will apply. If you are a no show at the event, no refund will be given. All cancellations must be communicated in writing via e-mail or letter through the Registrar. If NJ BMW CCA must cancel an event for any reason, registrants will be provided a full refund; however, NJ BMW CCA will not be liable for any charges or costs registrants may incur other than the registration fee. Refunds will be issued following the event.

MotorWeek Road Test For 2016 BMW 750i Released
The latest BMW 7 Series model, the 2016 BMW 750i was recently taken out for an extended Test drive by MotorWeek and they have now released a video outlining their results and opinions of this all-new vehicle. Overall, MotorWeek was quite impressed with everything that the new 750i has to offer from build and design to performance and technology.
The 2016 BMW 750i is definitely an eye-catching vehicle with its slightly larger body that helps to provide a commanding presence. The true luxury of this vehicle, however, can be seen on the inside with its stylish cabin that offers comfortable high-quality leather seats and a spacious amount of legroom for backseat passengers. A few additional options that will help bring true luxury to the traveling experience of your backseat passengers include available dual monitors and a control tablet.
In terms of performance capabilities, this vehicle comes equipped with 4.4-liter DOHC 32-Valve V8 Turbo VVT engine that generates an incredible 445 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque.

BMW Has Released Sales Results For April
April marked the official beginning of the second quarter for 2016 and the BMW brand has announced that their official yearly sales total has now reached 105,444 units. For just April alone, total sales came to 24,951 units.
“April is always a volatile month for BMW with model changeover taking place in some of our very popular X models, and the improving consumer confidence that typically follows the arrival of Spring still developing,” said Ludwig Willisch, President and CEO, BMW of North America. “The numbers for the BMW 2 Series and the BMW X1 show the very strong following our smaller vehicles continue achieving and I expect our high demand X models to show gains as availability improves in months ahead.”
Three vehicles stood out during April for their significant year-over-year increase compared to sales from April of last year. These vehicles included the X1 up 63.3 percent with 1,447 units, the 2 Series up 76.4 percent with 1,780 units, and the i3 up 100 percent with 814 units.
The 5 Series and Z4 also brought in notable increases for April with the 5 Series up 3.7 percent to reach 4,454 units, and the Z4 up 19.5 percent to reach 104 units.

As the Official Mobility Partner of the U.S. Olympic Committee, BMW of North America and its designers have been working with Team USA athletes and coaches to create a racing wheelchair designed for the United States Paralympics Track and Field Team. This new racing wheelchair was officially unveiled yesterday, as we reach the 100 day countdown to the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.
The wheelchair is inspired by BMW’s sleek look and signature design, with features such as carbon fiber material, aerodynamics, and a chassis redesign. Each wheelchair is also personally fitted for each athlete.
“Our partnership with Team USA over the last six years has been a remarkable journey, but the most rewarding part of it all has been the direct collaboration with our athletes,” said Trudy Hardy, Vice President, Marketing, BMW of North America. “Their dedication to their sport and their fans is unprecedented, and as a company dedicated to performance and mobility, this has been a project that felt right at home for us and we’re honored to be part of it.”
