Motor Authority has selected their Best Car to Buy 2017 and that impressive honor has been bestowed upon none other than that BMW M2! This incredible vehicle was put up against some top competition but, in the end, the complete performance package and fantastic price tag offered by this model were unbeatable as far as Motor Authority was concerned.
Overall, Motor Authority was impressed with just about everything that the BMW M2 has to offer in terms of performance and practicality. With its eye-catching looks and top steering and handling, this model made quite the testament right off the bat, easily putting it at the top of the list. October Sales Announced By BMW
In the first sales month of the fourth quarter, BMW has announced that they sold a total of 29,439 units throughout October and that their year-to-date sales have reached 254,150 so far this year. The models with the most notable year-over-year sales increases for October were the i8, 7 Series, X1, and X3. The increases included 33.5 percent for the i8 to reach 199 units, 83.3 percent for the 7 Series to reach 1,133 units, 350.9 percent for the X1 to reach 2,710 units, and 21.5 percent for the X3 to reach 3,680 units.
“The volatility of the U.S. market is more clearly evident as the pace of sales continues slowing from the peak of 2015,” said Ludwig Willisch, President and CEO, BMW of North America. “At the same time, BMW Sports Activity Vehicles – X1 to X6 – have set a new record, more than 100,000 sold year to date, accounting for 47% of our October sales, with room for more growth as demand for these popular models continues to increase.”
Additional Sales Results:
- Sales of the 2 Series sales reached 1,009 units
- Sales of the 4 Series sales reached 2,853 units
- Sales of the 6 Series sales reached 352 units
- Sales of the Z4 reached 78 units
- Sales of the X4 sales reached 400 units
- Sales of the X5 reached 3,885 units
- Sales of the X6 sales increased 5.4 percent to reach 590 units

Go Behind The Scenes Of The Escape
Earlier this week, we shared the first episode of the new BMW short film series “The Escape”. As we mentioned this new series id is a revival of a popular BMW short film series that aired about 15 years ago. Actor Clive Owen is back as the mysterious driver that takes on a new set of dangerous jobs.
While we shared this 13-minute short film in our previous blog we would now like to show you some of the behind-the-scenes footage about the making of this episode. BMW has release two clips that are around two-three minutes each that offer fans a peek into what it takes to bring one of these short films to life. You will also get to hear from a few of the key players about their experience working on the film and what this series means to them.

BMW Releases “The Escape”
A few weeks ago we told you that BMW was going to be releasing a series of new short films called “The Escape”. These new films are a continuation of the popular “The Hire” film series that was released by the brand about fifteen years ago. Like before, these films each star Clive Owen as a mysterious driver who is hired to transport people in a variety of situations. In each film, Clive Owen’s character uses a different BMW vehicle and the impressive capabilities of each model are truly put to the test with all of the impressive driving maneuvers that he must make in each of these situations.
The first episode of the new film series was released over the weekend and it is called “The Escape”. Once again, Owen’s character finds himself in a dangerous situation when he is tasked with transporting a young girl who is known as Number Five. He quickly realizes that the situation is not what it seems and he takes the necessary steps to do what he feels is right.
