October 2014 showed an 11% increase over October 2013 in sales for the BMW brand with a total of 30,602 units sold for the month. This is an increase of more than 3,000 units over the 27,574 that sold last October. Additionally, year-to-date sales of the BMW brand have reached 267,193 units, which is a 12% increase over the 238,469 units that sold during this same period in 2013. Overall, sales of BMW passenger cars reached 25,261 which is an increase of 14.3%.
“The momentum is still with us as shown by back-to-back monthly records for BMW in October and September,” said Ludwig Willisch, President and CEO, BMW of North America. “Our new models, especially the 2 and 4 Series, are giving BMW a great boost as we head into the final two months of the year but I am also very pleased to see our born-electric BMW i3 doing so well, averaging a thousand per month in sales after only four months on the market.”
