In the years since the start of BMW there have been several different concept cars developed. A few of these concept cars did make it through to become a production model, but there have also been a few that didn’t.

The first of these creative concepts that never made it past the concept stage was the M1. This was a sleek looking and beautifully designed car that eventually became the base concept for all future M-line models including the new BMW M5.

The original M1 model was not only enjoyable to look at but offered the speed and power that many enthusiasts crave. Unfortunately the price tag on the original model was higher than customers were willing to pay at the time and so the model never fully took off. Back in 2011 BMW created a M1 remake concept model to pay homage to the beauty and innovation of the original design, but the concept was never taken into production.
