BMW will once again serve as the official title sponsor for the season-opening IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge race. This now marks the fourth year in a row that BMW had held this role, and that tradition is set to continue as the the automaker just signed a multi-year contract with Daytona International Speedway. For this year, the famous race, which is scheduled for January 23, 2015, will be called the BMW Performance 200. Additionally, BMW will supply a custom BMW M4 Coupe with M Performance Parts as the official pace car for the race.

“I’m delighted to tell enthusiasts about BMW M Performance Accessories by emphasizing the success BMW has earned over four decades at North American race tracks,” said Craig Westbrook, Vice President of Aftersales for BMW of North America. “The BMW Performance 200 is the best way to start the season, and it’s a race we are exceptionally proud of because so many privately-campaigned BMW cars are entered each year.”

This is a special year for BMW of North America as it marks the 40th anniversary of their racing team, BMW Motorsport’s, first race in the U.S.  As such, two special BMW race cars, in the Rolex 24 on January 24.
