Your Guide To A Clean Garage | Flemington, NJ

Spring is here and in fact, it’s almost gone. That means summer is quickly approaching and if you’ve been putting off your spring cleaning, we’re here to tell you to knock that off and get to it. One of those to-dos that we want to focus on this week is cleaning out your garage and how to keep it that way. So, sit back, relax, and let us tell you all about cleaning out your garage and how to keep it that way!   First things first, we need to clean out your garage. Seriously, everything that has made your garage its home, remove it. This is a time to get rid of things you’ve been holding onto for years or find items a new home if you plan on keeping them. A golden rule is to make three designated piles for your items. One is a keep. A second is a toss. And lastly, your third pile is for items you plan to recycle. If you’re debating on tossing an item, think to yourself, have I used this item in the last six months? If not, toss.   Now that everything is finally removed from your garage - it’s time to get down and dirty into the cleaning portion of this blog. Spend some time cleaning the floor, the shelves, under any benches, the ceiling, gosh if you can clean it - just do it! I get that this might be a long, annoying process but you’ll thank us in the end. Bonus! Having a clean garage will make the things you own look much better and newer. And let’s be honest, who wants their BMW sitting is a dusty garage? No one.   Moving onto the organization. This is a vital part of keeping your garage looking like a well-kept, put together garage that you won’t be ashamed of. There are many options for your organizational issues. Choose how you want to organize your items and stick to the plan you set. Storage shelving, workbench, cabinets, wall or ceiling racks - choose what’s best for you and install. Personally, we like racks because you can get your items stored out of the way yet still able to see where they are.   So, are you ready to get to it? Once you’ve upgraded your garage, stop in to see us to upgrade your vehicle!

Keep Cool In Your BMW. Tips To Keep The Temperature Down. | Flemington, NJ

Temperatures are on the rise here in NJ and if you’re already tired of the hot summer heat when entering your vehicle, you’ve come to the right blog because this week we have our five top tips to help keep your vehicle cool when you’re away from it. Check out those tips below and contact our team when you’re ready to get out of the heat and into our dealership to upgrade into a new BMW! Flemington BMW Tips To Keep Cool: Use a sunshade or window visor. This is a great go-to method for drivers who are hoping to counteract the hot interior temperatures throughout the summer season. We recommend placing your sunshade or window visor each time you exit your vehicle for more than a few minutes. If you’re looking for a pro tip, put a sunshade on your rear windshield as well! Use a dash cover. Using a dash cover can make a big difference in making your vehicle’s interior more comfortable during hot temperatures. Dash covers will help you from touching hot vinyl surfaces and will also protect sensitive vinyl from any sun damage which can cause cracking and fading. Cover your steering wheel with a hand towel. Even when you use a sunshade, your steering wheel can still get very hot. Our recommendation is to place a small towel over your steering wheel. This will help keep your hands from burning when in contact with the steering wheel. Park in a shady area. When and if possible, park in shady areas. And if you’re going to be outside of your vehicle for an extended period of time, it’s worth a farther walk if you are able to park in the shade. You’ll be much happier that you parked farther away in the shade after your day out! Keep your possessions out of the sun. Keep any and all possessions, delicate or not, out of direct sunlight. Try storing your items underneath your seat or in a glove box. You can also throw a blanket over your possessions for extra measures. If you can’t find a place in your car that will conceal heat-sensitive goods, consider placing them in the trunk.
